The Guilford Foundation thanks Peter Barrett for his years of service and welcomes Linda Weber as the incoming Board Chair. A highlight of Peter’s tenure as Chair was the agility the Foundation demonstrated in establishing a Covid Relief Fund. Immediately after the onset of the pandemic, TGF was ready to meet the immediate and severe needs of local businesses. Linda looks to continue the momentum, ensuring The Guilford Foundation adapts to the evolving needs of the community through on going engagement.

Among many rewarding moments as Board Chair, Barrett calls the success of TGF’s Covid Relief Fund perhaps the most satisfying. TGF established the fund almost immediately after the onset of the pandemic to accept immediate donations and meet the immediate, severe need. “The fund met a need that was not being addressed, and couldn’t be addressed, by any other organization in the earliest stages of the pandemic,” notes Barrett.

The Covid Relief Fund demonstrated how TGF could quickly accelerate and expand its work in the face of sudden and overwhelming need.
