Jesse E. Whittemore, Jr. Scholarship Fund
Jesse and Mary Whittemore settled in Guilford in 1971. They discovered a nice town with a good school system where they raised a family and enjoyed various activities that the town offered.
Their three children, Jesse P. (GHS class of 1991), Faye ( GHS class of 1997), and Nate (GHS Class of 2004), went through the Guilford Public School system. All received a well-rounded education, in which they did well in their studies and participated in clubs, sports, and music programs.
In memory of Jesse Jr. (1944 – 2015), Mary established a scholarship fund with The Guilford Foundation to award two graduating students who participated in music and sports while attending Guilford High School and are looking to further their education.
The Jesse E. Whittemore, Jr. Scholarship Fund is a wonderful tribute to Jesse and an opportunity to show the family’s appreciation for the remarkable Guilford community that will award the scholarships in perpetuity.
