Kristin and Mike Song established the Ethan Miller Song Fund in 2018. This donor advised fund serves as a lasting memorial to Ethan Song, who passed away tragically on January 31, 2018.
This permanent legacy fund was established in 2018 to honor the life of Barbara Ann Pine and her dedication to the Guilford A Better Chance. Barbara passed away on June 28th , 2017.
Barbara Nugent was known for her love of all animals. A passion was horses, leading her to riding many years at the Guilford Riding School where she got involved in all aspects of the organization including fundraising events, shows, and competitions. This ultimately led to the creation of a named scholarship fund to honor her legacy.
In memory of Alison Varian, an avid boater and fisherman, this scholarship is given to students who want to pursue careers in aquaculture, fisheries or marine science.
An anonymous donor established the Children’s Fund in 2017. This is a field of interest fund that is intended to benefit Guilford’s Children, with priority given to basic needs, education and positive growth development.

In 2014, Tom Pinchbeck, then president of The Guilford Foundation, invited trustees of the Guilford Institute to consider joining the Guilford Foundation’s fold of legacy funds.
Jake Penman (1993-2008) was a sophomore at Guilford High School in 2008 when he unexpectedly passed away. He enjoyed life to the fullest, especially woodworking, computers, music, fishing, and canoeing, and was an enthusiastic spectator of all sports.
