Chloe Negron Memorial Fund

Chloe was born in New Haven in 2018 and lived her life in Connecticut, filled with joyous, loving moments with her family and friends. She was a student at ACES Village School in Hamden and a former student of Guilford Lakes Elementary School.

Geelan Family Fund

In recognition of Tim Geelan’s retirement in 2025, Ascend Bank has established the Geelan Family Fund with The Guilford Foundation. Seeded by Ascend Bank, the donor-advised fund will allow Tim and his wife, Melissa, to guide its future grantmaking.

Guilford Fund For Education (GFFE)

The GFFE mission is to provide financial support to projects, programs, and initiatives that foster innovative learning experiences for students and educators outside the Guilford Board of Education’s budget.

Elizabeth “Betsy” Goodspeed Frederick Fund

Elizabeth (Betsy) Goodspeed Frederick (1939 – 2023) was an esteemed educator, technology pioneer, dance enthusiast, and staunch advocate for civil rights. A donor-advised fund was established to honor her multifaceted legacy, providing the family with flexibility year-to-year to support causes dear to Betsy’s heart, from promoting STEM opportunities for girls to backing Planned Parenthood or a friend’s dance company.

Jonathan & Nancy Bishop Fund for Musical Opportunities for Youth

Jonathan and Nancy Bishop established this donor-advised fund in 2023 to support musical opportunities for young people. They realize the important role music has played in their lives and hope to nurture a lifelong love of music for children and youth in Guilford.

Paul Dostie “KARE”, (Kindness Always Rewards Everyone) Fund

This donor advised fund memorializes Paul Dostie by supporting families fighting serious illness as well as youth initiatives.

TGF Youth Advisory Group Fund (YAG)

This donor-advised fund was established in 2010 through a partnership between The Guilford Foundation and the Interact Club at Guilford High School (GHS), the youth arm of the Guilford Rotary Club.

Chris & Carl Balestracci Jr. Community Fencing Fund

Chris and Carl Balestracci started fencing at the same time in 1976. Chris was a freshman at Guilford High School with no fencing experience, and he came home to ask his dad to be the faculty advisor for the team because they didn’t have a coach. Carl was the Coach/Faculty advisor for the next 12 years until 1988. He also served as President of the CT Fencing Association for several years. During his tenure, the GHS team won several State Team Championships and they had many individual Champions as well.

Fappiano Family Fund for Special Needs

Christine and Tony Fappiano established this donor advised fund in 2018 to support individuals with special needs relating to cognitive disabilities, including autism, Down Syndrome, and other disabilities, who require assistance in living a full and vibrant life.

David W. Knapp Fund

David Knapp, longtime Guilford resident, established the David W. Knapp Fund in 2016. It’s unrestricted so it can be directed towards existing and future needs of the town.
